Successful small business owners know that you can’t account for every employee activity with a policy. You have to build trust with your employees to achieve peak performance. Don’t allow corporate lawyers to take over your company and advise you to create a policy for every incident that could ever happen.

Agree to Responsible Company Policies

This can become a big problem as your small business grows and continues to add new employees. As a company gets bigger, a bureaucracy can start to build. Many companies hire corporate lawyers. The lawyers spend their time telling the founders, owners, and leaders that they need a policy for every incident that could ever happen. Don’t do it. You should agree to responsible policies but don’t allow the corporate lawyers to take control of the company through rigid policies that don’t leave room for common sense.
